Journey with Jesus | March 26th – 31st
This 6th and final week of Lent is also Holy Week, when we follow Jesus through a week of suffering and agony, as well as hope and renewal. In honor of his sacrifice, let us offer 20 minutes of prayer each day to the one who gave up his all for us. This week’s prayer prompts are below. Another Lenten devotional is available online here.
- Find a place where you can be quiet and uninterrupted (if possible) for 20 minutes. Bring your Bible.
- Begin with one or two minutes of silence, quietly inviting Jesus to be present with you.
Opening Prayer (slowly, pausing as you need along the way):
O Lord, let my soul rise up to meet you as the day rises to meet the sun.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Come, let us bow down and bend the knee: let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
Psalm and Gospel for the Day: (slowly read the Psalm, maybe 2 or 3 times, pausing if there is a word or phrase that stands out to you; then take that word or phrase and turn it into a prayer. Then read the Gospel lesson.)
Mar. 26 | Psalm 51:1-12 | John 11:17-37
Mar. 27 | Psalm 6:1-10 | John 11:38-57
Mar. 28 | Psalm 55:1-8 | John 12:1-19
Mar. 29 | Psalm 142:1-7 | John 12:20-36
Mar. 30 | Psalm 141:5-10 | John 12:37-50
Mar. 31 | Psalm 27:1-14 | John 13:1-17
Personal Prayers (If you have felt God speaking from his word, respond in prayer; ask him to work in your life in specific ways.)
This week I encourage you to spend some time with a journal, reflecting on the following questions: What things am I feeling angry about? What things am I feeling sad about? What things am I feeling anxious about? What things am I feeling glad about? Then go through these lists and pray about the things that you have written.
Prayers for Others (especially pray for one person you would like to influence for Christ)
The Lord’s Prayer (pray it slowly and thoughtfully, thinking about ways each phrase may apply to your life today.)
Come, Holy Spirit. We pray that your fruit would be in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go.
Spiritual Growth Opportunities During Lent

Morning of Prayer | Sat., February 24 | 9:00a-12:00p
Come join us during the Lenten season with a Morning of Prayer. Participate in as much or as little as you are able. We will begin with time of worship and praise and then spend some time in guided prayer with the scriptures. We will use experiential tools to help us pray on our own for a time. Then we will come back together for a time of anointing with oil, prayers for healing, and worship. To finish, we will end with some giving of thanks and final songs and prayers.
Please take a note card from the pew and write a prayer—whatever it is that is most on your heart this year. At the end of the service, we will post these on the prayer boards around the sanctuary, to be prayed over on our Morning of Prayer.
Renewal of Baptism Service | March 18
Some of you were baptized long ago as an infant, child, or adult. But you have grown and changed since then, and you desire to recommit your life to God in a public way, to remember his work of grace in your baptism and lean into that work in a new way! Please see Pastor Derek if you would like to recommit to Christ through participation in a renewal of baptism service.
If anyone would like to receive first-time baptism or infant baptism or dedication, please contact Pastor Derek.
